Jaclyn first began her singing career at the young age of eighteen, performing in clubs and lounges and before her eventual participation in Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn had self-produced an album alongside her friend Ravi titled “Dream”, where she co-wrote some of the songs in the album.
Malaysia then recognized her as Jaclyn Victor the winner of Malaysian Idol back in 2004, a triumph which elevated both the singer’s presence and status within the music industry in the years after the show. The post-idol album “Gemilang” and consequently her pre-idol album, “Dream” were big hits and the singer became well recognized by critics through all the awards she has won. These would include, but not limited to, winning four categories at the 13th Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM), Best Female Artiste at the Anugerah Planet Muzik in Singapore and winning gold in the Asia New Singer Competition at the 13th Shanghai Music Festival.
Today she is not simply ‘an Idol Winner’, receiving praises and awards both within her native home country of Malaysia and abroad for her powerful vocals, Jaclyn has proven herself to be one of the most accomplished singers in the region.
